Configuring a custom email domain

Send professional emails from your own domain through Tiqqo for better deliverability and brand consistency.

Why Use Your Own Domain?

When you send emails from your own domain (e.g., [email protected] instead of a generic Tiqqo address), you get:

  • Professional appearance - Recipients see your brand, not ours

  • Better deliverability - Emails are less likely to end up in spam

  • Brand consistency - Matches your website and other communications

  • Trust building - Customers recognize your domain

Technical Requirements

⚠️ Important: This setup requires DNS configuration. You'll need someone with access to your domain's DNS settings (your web developer, IT person, or hosting provider).

Tiqqo handles all the complex email authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) - you just need to add the DNS records we provide.

Setup Process

Step 1: Add Your Domain in Tiqqo

  1. Log into your Tiqqo account

  2. Go to Organization Settings β†’ Email Configuration

  3. Click Add Domain

  4. Enter your domain details:

    • Domain: yourdomain.com (without https:// or www)

    • From Email: Choose an address like:

    • From Name: Your organization or event name

Step 2: Configure DNS Records

  1. After adding your domain, click DNS Setup next to your domain name

  2. Copy the DNS records shown

  3. Send these records to whoever manages your domain (web developer, hosting provider, or IT team)

  4. Ask them to add these records to your DNS configuration

What records are added:

  • CNAME records for email authentication

  • TXT records for domain verification

  • These prove to email providers that Tiqqo is authorized to send on your behalf

Step 3: Verify Your Domain

  1. After DNS records are added, wait for propagation (typically 15 minutes to 24 hours)

  2. In Tiqqo, click Verify next to your domain

  3. Once verified βœ…, you can set this domain as your Primary Sending Domain

Troubleshooting

Domain not verifying?

  • Wait up to 24 hours for DNS propagation

  • Double-check that DNS records were added exactly as specified

  • Contact your DNS provider if you're unsure about the setup

Next Steps

Once your domain is verified:

  • All event emails will automatically send from your custom domain

  • Test by sending yourself a sample ticket or communication

  • Your customers will now see professional emails from your brand
